When the time comes to hang art in the home, most of us overlook the best gallery of all: the kitchen.
The kitchen is probably the most frequently used room in the house. It’s also often the brightest.

About ten years ago, we had a country house with a large kitchen and too much empty wall space.

We wanted to hang something on the walls that would add charm, beauty and style to our kitchen. Something different. So, I made enlargements of a series of photos I’d shot in restaurants and markets in Rome.  I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the results. Our kitchen looked like an entirely different place.

All of the photographs on my website were shot in restaurants, homes and markets, throughout Italy. Some of the photographs were taken in well-known restaurants, but the majority were shot in little restaurants that we discovered while driving from town-to-town.

The chefs, managers and staffs had no prior knowledge that I was going to photograph their food. Every picture was shot candidly and in natural light.

I hope you enjoy my photographs.

Please email me with any questions you may have about my photographs, or Italian food.
